How Attention Age works

Discover, practice, compare, focus.

01

Discover

Three short timed tasks — about five minutes. You get a 0–100 Attention Index, five category scores and a plain-English explanation of each.

02

Practice

Optional daily drills with a clear start and finish. Suggestions lean toward your lowest category in the latest session — never labelled a permanent weakness.

03

Compare

A weekly re-test with identical tasks and scoring. Changes under 5 points are called ‘about the same’, and early gains from familiarity are flagged.

04

Focus

Ready to focus: name a task, pick a length, begin. A clean countdown with a Lock Screen Live Activity, optional ambient sound, and an easy way to stop.

The honest part

A transparent index — not an age.

Earlier versions showed an age-style number. Without large, representative, age-referenced data, that can’t be measured honestly, so version 1.2 replaced it with a 0–100 Attention Index built only from your own task performance. Every weight and validity check is published.

  • Not a medical, clinical or diagnostic test
  • Not compared with any population, age group or leaderboard
  • Results vary with sleep, stress, device and practice
  • Improving at a task isn't proof of broader cognitive change

FAQ

Fair questions.

Attention Age uses three short tasks: Signal Watch (respond to targets, hold back on decoys), Interference (judge the middle arrow while flanking arrows point elsewhere) and Tracking (follow moving objects). From your taps it measures accuracy, reaction time and how steady your timing is, and turns those into five category scores and a 0–100 Attention Index. It measures performance on these tasks on this device — nothing broader.

Not honestly without large, representative, age-referenced data and validation — which Attention Age does not have. Earlier versions showed results on an age-style scale; version 1.2 retired that. You now get a transparent 0–100 index based only on your own task performance, never an age, percentile or ranking.

No. It is a game-based performance tracker for entertainment and self-practice. It cannot diagnose, screen for or rule out any condition. If you are concerned about your attention or memory, talk to a qualified professional.

Sleep, stress, time of day, caffeine, the device, how you hold it and simple chance all move short task scores. Early re-tests also tend to rise because the tasks feel familiar. The app treats changes under 5 points as 'about the same' and shows every result, including lower ones.

Free: the full five-minute test and result, weekly comparable re-tests, the Daily Signal, three core practice drills, a 10 or 25 minute focus timer, your full history and CSV export. Pro (optional, billed by Apple) adds seven more drills with adaptive difficulty, Quick/Standard/Extended daily circuits, 45 and 90 minute focus sessions, extra soundscapes and Lumen customization.

No account, no email. Scores, history and sessions are stored on your iPhone. Purchases are processed by Apple, and RevenueCat validates subscriptions using an anonymous identifier — it never receives your results.
